Skiathos is one of the most beautiful of the Greek Islands and can be the best choice if you love to participate in water sports. The beaches are beautiful and renting a hotel or villa by the sea can make a great home base for exploring this island rich in history. Skiathos is easily reached by air from Athens and cruise ships that make regular stops.

If you want to learn about the rich history and and other information about this fascinating city, a trip around the island is advisable. Boats leave the Port Of Old Skiathos daily and take you on a guided tour of this wonderful island. If more extreme water sports are your choice, there are many types of water sports available to please the most adventurous person. Jet skiing, para-sailing, and water-skiing are all available at the at Vassilias beach. There is even a water ski school for those who would like to learn this sport. For others, tubes and banana float riding can all be done from this beach.

If you want to scuba_diving_in_skiathos or need to learn, head to one of the three diving centers in Skiathos. There you can take tours and do reef dives. Deep dives, shallow dives or even night diving are all available. Diving in Greece needs to be done in tour groups because the government of this country does not want any Greek antiquities stolen. There are actually diving trips you can take to ship wrecks, where you will be taught about the history of the wreck and other interesting information about the ship and its origin.

If you know how to sail, you can rent a sail boat and Sailing in Skiathos and the surrounding islands. Spending a day in a sailboat can also be done with a guide for those who need a captain for their boat. Bring your sunscreen and a lunch for a fun way to view these Greek Islands.
